Eudora
To Enable multiple email accounts in Eudora, you will need to create
separate shortcuts for each new email account. Before you start,
ask your system administrator if you are allowed to connect to an
external POP3 server.
- Right-click anywhere on your desktop. From the dropdown menu,
Click on New , then Shortcut.
- This will bring you into a Create Shortcut dialogue box.
Click on the Browse button to find the Eudora executable
file. Click Next when done.
- In the Select a name for the shortcut: box, type the
name your new email account. Click on Finish when done.
- Find your new shortcut and right-click on it. Click on Properties
from the drop down menu that appears.
- Alter the Target: box by adding a space then type the
path to where you would like the datafiles to be stored. For example
C:\Eudora\Eudora.exe C:\username\Eudora.
- Change the Start in: box, type the path to the datafiles
that you specified in the previous step, for example C:\username\Eudora.
Click on OK when done.
NOTE: If the path to your datafiles contains a space, the
whole path should be enclosed in double quotes ("). For example
: C:\username\Eudora does not require double quotes while "C:\Program
Files\username\Eudora" does. Please make sure that the Start
in: directory exists, or else you will not be able to apply
the changes to the shortcut.
- Start Eudora.
- You will be prompted to create a brand new account, click on
Next.
- Make sure that Create a brand new email account is selected.
Click on Next when done.
- Type the name of your new email account in the Your Name:
box. Click on Next when done.
- Type your new email address in the Email Address: box.
Click on Next when done.
- Type your new email address in the Login Name: box. Click
on Next when done. Note: Some older versions
of Eudora will register an error if you type in your email address.
If you cannot retrieve your mail, or the configuration window
complains about an invalid login name, replace the contents of
the Login Name: box by your control code (The numeric part
of your activation code).
- Type
pop.iprimus.com in the Incoming Server: box.
- Make sure that the POP radio button is selected. Click
on Next when done.
